    Program Summaries

    CIHS Technical Programs Overview

    Joelle Daniele, the Admissions Chair for Career Innovation High School (CIHS), introduced the school's programs and application process.  CIHS, located in Paramus, offers three technical programs: Fabrication and Design, Dental Healthcare, and Global Business and Logistics, accepting 60 students annually. Joelle explained that applications are due on November 9th, and interviews will be conducted in January and February.  She was joined by several team members, including the Principal, Jeremy Wertheim, Supervisor Kevin Donatello and program instructors, to discuss the opportunities available at CIHS.  Jayda Moody, Counselor, provided an overview of Career Innovation's focus on academic guidance, social-emotional support, and college and career readiness for high school students. 

    Career Innovation High School Renderings

    Mr. Donatello presented renderings of Career Innovation High School, highlighting its state-of-the-art facilities including science classrooms, a dental healthcare suite, and a welding lab. He described the building's layout, featuring spacious hallways, a central staircase, and a college-style study area.  The presentation also showcased the Global Business and Logistics suite, as well as the cafeteria and gymnasium.  Ms. Jayda Moody, the school counselor, was introduced to provide more information about student support services at the school.

    Dental Healthcare Program Overview

    Dr. Broderick presented the new dental healthcare program, outlining its four-year curriculum which includes dental anatomy, chair-side assisting, and hands-on training with simulation mannequins.  The program will offer externships, field trips, and certifications in CPR and OSHA, preparing students for careers in dental or healthcare fields.

    Global Business and Logistics Overview

    Scarlett Quintero, a first-year teacher with industry experience from DHL, Anheuser-Busch, and Coca-Cola, introduced the Global Business and Logistics program.  She outlined the four-year curriculum, which includes entrepreneurship, supply chain basics, inventory management, and transportation in the first three years, culminating in a comprehensive fourth year.  Scarlett emphasized the program's alignment with Rutgers University's supply chain management curriculum and highlighted the high demand and promising career prospects in logistics, noting an 87% job placement rate for graduates and a median salary of $74,000.  She also discussed entry-level positions, career paths in supply chain and business, and the inclusion of the FBLA club for competitive opportunities and Six Sigma certification.

    Fabrication & Design Program

    John DiMieri introduced the Fabrication and Design program at Career Innovation High School, where he explained the curriculum, emphasizing safety, technical skills, and design.  He highlighted the program's new facilities, certifications, and career paths, including welding, inspection, and engineering.
